A stone’s throw from Las Vegas, Valley of Fire State Park will have you exchanging your gambling tokens for hiking boots. This park is packed with massive red rocks jetting hundreds of feet in the air from seemingly nowhere ranking as my most underrated state park in America. Who hit the Nevada jackpot? You did.
Uinta National Forest near Spanish Fork is home of Utah’s epic Fifth Water Hot Springs. The hike from trailhead round trip is around 4.5 miles - with the springs as the half way turn around point. You'll know you're near when you start to smell the sulfur seeping up from the spring that winds along the side of the trail.
